Planning a wedding is not easy, and you know what's not easier? Planning a wedding in a different country with a 16 hour time difference. I spent 5 months planning and looking into different photographers and destinations. Then I found The Richard Anthony Photography. After looking at all their portfolio's, I decided to book a MINI save the date session with Richard and was sold once we received our photos.

I booked them about 5 months before leaving to Bali, and oh boy Richard and his team was fast in responding with detailed information in preparing before the wedding in Indonesia. We went to lunch three times prior to departing to give specific details and shots that my wife and I wanted. Since we were flying out there a week prior to the wedding, we asked if they would be able to do an add on package to capture photos of us as we explored the island of Bali prior to the wedding, and they loved that idea to get candid shots of us!

Day of the wedding, Richard reached out through WhatsApp and wanted to meet for breakfast with full breakdown to make sure we were not missing any shots that we had talked about capturing. Being as stressed as I was, Richard and his team made it much easier and smoother than what I would of thought. What I loved about Richard having an assistant fly out with him is that he was very casual when I arrived with my soon to be Fiancé. I asked him if he could take a "Picture" of us, which ended up being a video recording while Richard’s assistant took some amazing shots.

Nonetheless the whole experience was great. My fiancé loved the raw and posed shots, and loved our photographer and his assistant. He is now our photographer for anything and everything that we plan, we are flying him to Kauai to take maternity shots during our babymoon. If you are thinking of hiring a destination wedding photographer, no matter how many miles away the destination may be, go with Richard Anthony Photography and his team!!!

Since he lives on the West Coast and we were getting married on the East Coast - we spoke on the phone a couple of weeks prior to the wedding to get to know each other a better and so that he can find what we wanted on our special day. I don’t even know where to start... Rick is just the best. I DO NOT like having my picture taken so choosing a photographer for our wedding was daunting to me, especially with how many options there are. The second I met Rick it was love at first sight. He made us feel so comfortable. He just has that way about him. When it came to our wedding day he made it so special. He captured the most amazing moments (especially the candid ones), he got my teenage nephew to smile in multiple photographs, which is HUGE and by the end of the night he was friends with all the guests at my wedding. On the day of the wedding, he knew exactly what he was doing as he took the “getting ready,” “ceremony,” “just us,” and “reception” photos. He was incredibly courteous and friendly with all of our friends and family, and for the most part we hardly even noticed as he spent the whole evening taking photos. Richard and his team of seasoned professionals helped deliver the vision we described from the very onset. He photographed our engagement shoot which required him waking up very early in the morning to get the perfect shot at LACMA Urban Lights before the masses arrived. He also got the perfect shot of us with my favorite Bougainvillea vine in the background. Even though it was in an alley (by my choosing), he made the photo look as if we were in a garden in Versailles. It was magical and exactly what I envisioned.
